Subhasree Ganguly is an Indian cinema actress and former model who mostly features in Bengali films. Born in Burdwan, she made her debut in showbiz by becoming the winner of “Fairever Anandalok Nayikar Khonje”. She aspired to be an actor from childhood and eventually became a renowned film actress, as said by an acting institute in Kolkata. Subhashree, who has established herself as one of the leading actresses in commercial Bengali films, also performs in stage events and is a popular celebrity endorser for companies and products.
Acting Journey of Subhasree Ganguly:
In an interview, Subhasree Ganguly said that being from a small city Burdwan and a non-filmy background, there have been many ups and downs, which she feels has helped her a lot in her career progress since failure teaches you what success cannot. She always keeps open to new opportunities and learns from people she meets.
She made her Oriya cinema debut in “Mate Ta Love Helare”, opposite Anubhav Mohanty. While being launched with great excitement and predicted to be a hit, the film was a critical and commercial disappointment. She then made her Bengali film debut in “Pitribhumi”, where she had a supporting part. The film, directed by Prabhat Roy, also failed to provide her with the much-needed attention. Later the same year, she co-starred with Soham Chakraborty in Prabhat Roy’s directorial Bengali film “Bajimaat”. But she rose to fame with back-to-back blockbusters with Dev in films named “Challenge” and “Paran Jai Jaliya Re”, says the acting academy at Kolkata.
This commercial success rose her to fame overnight. She later paired up with Dev and became one of Tollywood’s most famous pairs in movies such as “Challenge”, “Paran Jai Jaliya Re”, “Romeo”, “Khokababu”, and “Khoka 420”. Her collaboration with another Tollywood celebrity, Jeet, was also a huge hit. “Boss”, “Game”, and “Boss 2: Back to Rule” have all become box office successes.
“Nabab”, her debut film with Bangladesh opposite Shakib Khan, set a sales record in Bangladesh cinema history and became one of the year’s most popular films. Her most recent release, “Parineeta” (2019), earned her well-deserved praise and prizes, including Filmfare award as said by an acting institute in Kolkata.
After her marriage to Director-producer Raj Chakrabarty, she became a mother to her son Yuvaan. Motherhood gave her both positive feelings as well as criticisms. During her pregnancy, she had gained a weight of 92 kgs. But she never let that affect her life or her son or her career, as said by an acting academy. But after a short break, she now started filming her next movie. Speaking about the challenges of handling the life of a working mother and her professional career, Subhashree says that’s the challenge every working mother faces daily.
Surviving in the tinsel town requires much more than chance, especially if you’re an actress. In Tollywood, Subhashree Ganguly is a living example of calm will, dedication, and devotion. This stunning actress, who made her debut in 2008, has gone a long way since then. Subhashree’s career as an actor has progressed steadily over the last 14 years, with many successful films under her belt.
Not only has she matured as a performer, but she also selects her roles with care to develop an outstanding career, according to an acting academy at Kolkata. As Subhashree says, fame is temporary, and life is not a cinema; it’s bigger than that. So, she never lets fame and success get into her head but instead learns from all the new opportunities she is provided with.
